Man accused of kidnapping woman on trial in northwest Missouri

A man accused of kidnapping his former girlfriend and leading authorities on two separate manhunts is on trial in northwest Missouri this week.

Brian Adkison led police on a manhunt through the Lake of the Ozarks in summer 2013, and was caught in Ohio after breaking out of jail in northwest Missouri later in 2013.

Adkison also had a trial in Boone County last month.

It was declared a mistrial after the jury couldn’t reach a verdict on forcible rape and sexual assault charge.

Adkison will be back in Boone County court on those charges in April.
