JC police investigating homicide

Jefferson City police are investigating a homicide that happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of East High Street and found a 52-year-old Jefferson City man with gunshot wounds. He was unconscious and taken to a local hospital where he died shorty after.

JCPD detectives were on the scene Sunday afternoon investigating. According to initial reports, after the victim was shot, he was able to get to a neighbor’s apartment who then called 911.

Detectives are working with area residents and other people who are affiliated with the victim.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time.

There is no suspect description. The suspect or suspects are still at large and considered to be armed and dangerous.
