Two charged in Morgan Co. murder-for-hire plot

Morgan County authorities arrested two people from Texas Wednesday for allegedly conspiring a murder-for-hire plot.

Deputies found out about the plan on February 6 and were contacted by a confidential informant who confirmed the information.

An undercover Morgan County deputy met with 25-year-old Nicholas Hartman and 32-year-old Patience Giersdorf on Wednesday.

Giersdorf and Hartman negotiated with the undercover deputy for the murder of a Morgan County man and other members of his family.

Deputies arrived and arrested both Giersdorf and Hartman.

The two were charged the next day with 1st degree conspiracy to commit murder.

Bond was set at $500,000 for the pair.
