University of Missouri leaders vote to increase tuition

The University of Missouri system board of curators voted to increase tuition by under 1 percent on all four campuses during a meeting in Columbia Thursday morning.

That will bring undergraduate tuition in the next academic year to $9,335 for over 77,000 students in the UM system, which marks an all-time high.

Board members also increased non-resident tuition by 0.8 percent for the University of Missouri Kansas City, 2.9 percent at the University of Missouri St. Louis, and 3 percent for non-residents at the University of Missouri Columbia and Missouri S&T in Rolla.

The levels for each campus were determined from the economic conditions of the surrounding area.

The changes will take effect in the summer session of 2015.
