No arrests 7 months after Mid-Missouri man’s death
It’s been 7 months since a Mid-Missouri man’s death, and no arrests have been made.
ABC 17 Thursday spoke with the family of 32-year-old Cody Thirlwall, who went missing last summer.
Authorities are still looking for the person who killed Thirlwall.
He went missing last July and his body was found a month later in Moniteau County.
As of right now, no one has been arrested in his death.
Cody’s sister said she just wants to know who killed Cody so they can put this nightmare behind them.
Peggy Evans is Cody Thirlwall’s mother.
“I wouldn’t want any mother to have to go through what I’m going through,” said Evans.
Thirlwall’s girlfriend, Tyra Sheldon, doesn’t want him to be forgotten.
“We just want people to remember he was a good person, you know? He wasn’t just a statistic,” said Sheldon.
Cody’s sister, Andrea Thirlwall, said she can’t start the grieving process until his killer is caught.
Andrea said, “If you know something, come forward.”
Andrea took us out to Moniteau County Thursday where Cody’s body was found.
A hunter found his decomposing body, pushed under a tree.
“How do you do that? Do you have no feelings? No conscience?” said Thirlwall’s mother, Peggy Evans.
Andrea said there is still no closure as to what happened to Cody.
“We have to fight through everyday just to get through the day without breaking down and crying,” said Andrea.
Cody’s mom, sister, and girlfriend aren’t the only ones left behind.
“He was still someone’s son, someone’s brother… Three children’s father,” said Sheldon.
Although his family is devastated after his death they still managed to smile while looking through photos of Cody.
They are asking if anyone knows anything about Cody’s death to call authorities.
