Warmer weather moves in this weekend
Arctic air settles over Mid-Missouri Thursday but quickly shifts to the east by Friday. A ridge of high pressure aloft will build as we head into the weekend, compressing the air and producing warmer temperatures. At the same time, winds will shift to the south ushering in warmer air.
Afternoon temperatures Thursday will stay mainly in the 20s after morning lows in the single digits. By Friday, we will be 20 degrees warmer, reaching into the upper 40s to near 50. The weekend gets even warmer with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s and nights above freezing. A cold front moves through Sunday, bringing some clouds but at this time, rain is not expected.
