Two arrested after breaking into Jefferson City home

Two people were arrested after an early morning burglary in the 900 block of Boonville Road in Jefferson City.

When officers got to the scene, they saw a pickup truck leaving and stopped it.

Officers searched the truck and saw several parts that belonged to the homeowner where the burglary alarm was triggered.

After searching the house, officers found a window had been broken into and another suspect was seen running away from the house before they got there.

A neighbor was able to describe that suspect to police.

The driver of the pickup, 37-year-old Jonathan Williamson, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, stealing, and 2nd degree burglary.

Later, an officer saw a man matching the second suspect description on Commerce Drive near the Runge Nature Center.

When the officer and K9 unit tried to stop the suspect, he ran off into the woods.

The K9 team was was able to tackle the suspect and get him into custody. The officer and suspect both received minor injuries in the scuffle.

That suspect, 38-year-old Eric Arnold, was arrested for 2nd degree burglary, stealing, resisting arrest, and 2nd degree assault on an officer.

Both suspects are in the Cole County Jail.
