Boone County deputies investigate Columbia attempted break-in
Boone County Sheriff’s deputies investigated an attempted home invasion on the southwest side of Columbia.
Deputies responded to a home at 2622 Bainbridge Drive, which is right off Scott Boulevard just north of the Jay Dix trailhead.
Deputies said a neighbor called 911 after they saw the door kicked in, but they determined no one was home at the time.
After a search of the house, it was determined nothing was stolen from the home.
Deputies were searching the area around the home after 7:30 Monday night.
Emergency dispatchers said the suspect was a black man, 18-20 years old, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
According to scanner traffic, deputies described the suspect as violent.
