Columbia city council approves $11.6 million road project

The Columbia city council will voted unanimously Monday night on a bill to authorize construction of phase three of the improvements on Scott Boulevard.

The improvements are from Vawter School road to Route KK.

The council called for bids through the Purchasing Division.

This third phase will include street pavement, construction of a bridge, roundabout and sidewalks among other improvements.

It will also include a water purifying system, as water quality is a big concern in that area.

The cost of the project is an estimated $11.6 million.
