Wintry mix, snow chance possible this weekend

Near-average temperatures are expected through the rest of the week and into the first part of the weekend, but the next low pressure system expected to impact Mid-Missouri will begin to take shape over the four corners region of the southwest United States.

Forecast models are in agreement that this system will start moving into Mid-Missouri by late Saturday afternoon.

Precipitation is expected to enter Mid-Missouri early Saturday evening, starting out as a rain/slushy snow mix.

Temperatures will be near the freezing mark overnight Saturday into early Sunday, allowing for light snow to possibly accumulate.

The newest data is pointing toward low amounts of snow through early Sunday afternoon.
