Man arrested in Howard County for sex crimes against a child

A man sits in the Howard County jail, accused of multiple sex crimes against a child.

43-year-old Darrell Hamilton was arrested by Glasgow police earlier this month and was taken to the Howard County jail where he is currently in custody.

The alleged crimes happened in 2013.

ABC 17 tried to get more information regarding the crimes allegedly committed, but the judge ordered the probable cause statement be sealed.

Hamilton is charged with four counts of sexual misconduct or attempt involving a child under fifteen and two counts of first degree child molestation.

Right now, it isn’t clear if Hamilton knows the children or child he is accused of molesting.

As far as Hamilton’s past criminal history, he’s been in trouble several times for writing bad checks.

Hamilton’s Facebook account said he lived in Springfield.

Sources tell ABC 17 he formerly worked construction, but was in between jobs when he was arrested.

His bond is set at $200,000 cash only.
