Moberly police make arrests in assault cases

Two people were arrested in Moberly in separate assault cases on Thursday. In one case, police investigating a shots fired call in the 700 block of Taylor Street. Officers found a loaded pistol and a shell casing. They later arrested a 17-year-old girl in connection with the shooting. She was booked into the Randolph County jail for assault.

In the second case, a 35-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resulting in injuries. The incident happened in the 100 block of Coates Street. The officer with the Moberly police department got minor injuries, and was treated at Moberly Regional Medical Center.
