Light snow possible near I-44 Wednesday night

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 AM Thursday for the possibility of 1-3 inches of snow in southern Missouri. The heaviest snow is expected from Joplin through Springfield but light snow is possible as far north as southern Pulaski and Phelps counties.

A narrow band of snow is forecast to move over areas near and south of I-44 from Wednesday evening in southwestern Missouri spreading northeast into the southern portions of Mid-Missouri by midnight. The snow will end by daybreak Thursday.

Up to an inch of snow is possible in southern Pulaski and Phelps counties with a dusting possibly in southern Camden county. If the narrow snow band wobbles north slightly, snow amounts could be a bit higher.
