The current season snowfall total at the Columbia Regional Airport is only at 1.9″. We got .8″ snow in November, 1″ in December and .1″ so far in January. Measurable snow is not expected until the end of January at the earliest.

The 30 year average monthly snowfall in December is 4.8″ and just over 5″ in January and February. In the 2014 we got 2.4″ in December, 7.5″ in January and 7.4 in February and ended up with 18″ for the season which is right at the 30 year average.

February can be a snowy month. Two years ago in February 2013 we got 20.5″, all which fell after the 20th of the month. Prior to that we only had 1.9″ for the season. A spring snowstorm brought another 10.3″ of snow in March 2013.
