CenturyLink to close regional dispatch center in Columbia

CenturyLink will close a dispatch center in Columbia on Tuesday, leaving some people without a place to work. The center is on Cherry Street, and employed 40 people.

A CenturyLink spokesman told ABC 17 News sixteen of the employees will continue to work with the company, though in different positions. Four of the employees have found other employment. CenturyLink is hiring positions in Jefferson City right now.

The closure does not affect the CenturyLink retail store on Cherry Street, which will remain open. CenturyLink customers should not see a change in service when the closure happens.
