New judge elected to 13th Judicial Court

The 13th Judicial Circuit which serves Callaway and Boone counties has elected a new presiding judge effective January 30.

Christine Carpenter will succeed Judge Jodie Capshaw Asel, who has served as presiding judge since January 31.

Carpenter was first appointed to the court in 1999 as a Drug Court Commissioner.

Prior to her appointment to the court, Carpenter was a Boone County assistant prosecuting attorney and was in private practice.
