Preparing for power outages

With the approaching winter weather, ABC 17 talked to experts to get you prepared incase the power goes out.

Boone Electric officials said to make sure you have an extra generator outside

If you see any downed power lines, don’t approach them, instead call Boone Electric.

“We have crews staged and ready to be mobilized. We will have them set tonight through tomorrow as long as the weather will come in. We do call in extra crews to make sure we have enough on standby to mobilize incase the weather does show up,” said Managing Engineer Andrew Petri.

Boone Electric has a specific command center just for power outages.

They also have extra crews during inclement weather to restore power as quickly as possible.
