Multiple vehicle fire north of Columbia
Boone County fire crews responded to a a multiple vehicle fire north of Columbia Wednesday afternoon.
Crews were at Chuck’s Auto Salvage on Mt. Zion Church Road.
A worker there told ABC 17 he was cutting a spring out of one of the vehicles and thinks a spark may have caught a Jeep’s carpeting on fire.
He said the fire spread from one vehicle to three others and caused a large amount of smoke.
He estimated the damage is less than $3,000.
Firefighters said the fire was under control within 5 to 10 minutes.
