Columbia police tie suspects to another robbery

Two Columbia men arrested last week after a recent string of business robberies were tied to another hold-up Monday at a Jimmy John’s restaurant.

A 16-year-old was taken into custody around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, now accused of playing a role in five of the six hold-ups with Jafari Boss, 31, who is already charged for the crime spree.

Boss was arrested after a shooting Wednesday night around 11 in the 1500 block of I-70 Drive Southwest near Hunt Avenue, just east of the mall.

Both of the men live on Northland Drive. Court documents claim Boss is dating the teenager’s mother. They are accused of working together on all the robberies that started more than two weeks ago, except for the hold-up at Denny’s.

Speedy Mart, Budget Host Inn, We B Smokin’, China Moon and the Jimmy John’s restaurant on Rainforest Parkway off north Rangeline were all robbed within 10 days of each other.
