Westminster students arrested for pot

Detectives at the Fulton Police Department said two students have been charged with a class A felony for drug possession and intent to distribute.

Detective Dall Hedges at the Fulton Police Department said as of 3 this morning the 2 male students were still in custody.

He said Westminster security are the ones who called the Fulton Police regarding smoke coming from one of the dorms.

Around ten last night Fulton police went to Sweazy Hall and found smoke from burnt pot.

During the search police found other drug paraphernalia associated with distribution.

One of the students was also arrested for having one prescription drug pill.

Hedges said even one controlled substance pill can land someone in jail… If it isn’t theirs.

“It wasn’t a multitude of pills, but it’s not his. It’s not prescribed to him.,” said Detective Hedges.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are waiting for lab results regarding how much marijuana the students had.

Both students are Non-Missouri residents.
