Police investigate motel robbery in Columbia
Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery that happened at a Columbia motel.
Just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, police we called out to the 900 block of Vandiver to the Budget Host Inn.
Police tell us two suspects, both wearing dark clothing, entered the motel armed with guns.
The suspects demanded money from the register and safe. Investigators say the employees turned it over and then the suspects restrained the employee and a customer. The customer was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police say at least one was wearing a mask at the time.
