Suspect on the run after police chase in Columbia

A suspect is on the run after leading Boone County law enforcement on a pursuit through Columbia Saturday night.

It started when a deputy spotted a stolen car near Rangeline and Business Loop 70 using a license plate reader.

The car was reported stolen out of Columbia.

The deputy tried to stop the car, but the driver refused to stop, which led to a pursuit.

The car finally came to a stop at Garth Avenue and Business Loop 70.

Both the driver and passenger fled on foot. Deputies caught and arrested the passenger, 20-year-old Krystle Wilson of Columbia.

But the driver is still on the run. He is described as a white man, approximately six feet tall and wearing dark clothing.

Wilson was booked at the Boone County jail on three separate counts, including tampering, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. She also had a warrant for tampering with a vehicle.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office said no one was injured in the pursuit.
