Three injured following plane crash near Fulton

Three people were injured following a plane crash near Fulton Monday night. The three men were believed to be in their 60s.

A pilot, co-pilot, and passenger were taking off in a twin-engine plane from the Fulton airport and made it about 50 yards before crashing into a wooded area near Callaway County Rd. 308.

The pilot, 63-year-old Ted Berg, told firefighters the plane lost power. Berg was from Little Rock, Arkansas, and was traveling back.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 5:28 p.m.

Two on the plane were seriously injured, the third sustained moderate injuries. On Tuesday, the pilot, Berg, was listed in fair condition.

All were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
