Woman arrested after smoking synthetic pot, causing crash

A Higbee woman was arrested after police said she fell asleep while driving, causing a Columbia crash that injured 5 people.

The crash happened at the intersection of Providence and Stadium.

Witnesses said 27-year-old Reisa Branstetter was speeding in the wrong lane before crashing into two other vehicles.

She apparently admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana before leaving the house and to falling asleep while driving.

Two juvenile victims were also in the car at the time.
