Mid-Missouri sex offender captured in Iron County

A mid-Missouri registered sex offender has been captured after multiple days on the run.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Joshua McFerrin was taken into custody in Iron County.

McFerrin was believed to be at an address in Bland, Missouri, but deputies couldn’t find him when they served a search warrant at the residence Friday.

McFerrin has active warrants from Franklin County for second degree murder, armed criminal action, leaving the scene of an accident and escape from custody while under arrest for a felony.

Those warrants were issued last Wednesday.

McFerrin was arrested back in August and taken to the Franklin County Jail where he posted bond. Authorities put him on a GPS monitoring ankle bracelet and he was believed to have returned to Osage County.

He was last tracked near Labadie, Missouri Monday. But law enforcement said he removed his ankle bracelet.

Police said he may have had a handgun and was considered highly dangerous.
