Vote 2014 Results: District 47 State Representative

Republican Chuck Basye won a tight race over current State Representative John Wright (D) to take the District 47 seat. Wright was the incumbent, but he was also a Democrat living in a mostly Republican district.

Wright’s campaign spent $412,000, and Basye’s had at least $46,000. The race loomed large for state leaders, because the GOP was focused on maintaining their veto-proof majority of 109 votes in the Missouri House.

Basye is a Marine veteran who also has a small farm in Rocheport. Six generations of his family are from Mid-Missouri.
