Vote 2014: Cole Co. 19th Circuit Judge

Current Cole County 19th Circuit Judge Pat Joyce retained her seat in the race against Brian Stumpe, despite a large amount of outside spending in the powerful judgeship.

Joyce has been a judge in Cole County since 1994.

Joyce led the race with 12,062 votes to Stumpe’s 10,719.

According to the Associated Press, The Washington-based Republican State Leadership Committee donated $100,000 directly to Stumpe weeks before the election.

The AP also reported the group also gave almost $300,000 to its local political action committee to pay for negative advertisements against Joyce.
