Two children injured after Jefferson City rollover crash

Two people were injured after a car rolled over on U.S. 50 and Highway 63 in Jefferson City Friday afternoon.

The accident happened between Clark Ave. and Eastland Drive.

A Jeep driven by 58-year-old Johnny Quehl was traveling west on Hwy. 50 when he lost control and went off the right side of the road.

Witnesses said they saw the Jeep begin to move off the road and go down an embankment.

Police said one of the children was thrown from the car during the rollover.

The children, ages three and four years old were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Only one of the children was buckled in a seat belt or child safety seat.

Quehl is suspected of drunk driving and was not injured.

The children were treated and released to their parents.

Quehl faces multiple charges following the crash.
