Woman killed in Rangeline crash was witness to recent homicide

ABC 17 News has learned the woman killed in a Columbia crash this week was a witness in a recent homicide.

Monday’s crash involved two pedestrians walking on Rangeline Street and Vandiver.

One person was injured and the woman, Dianna Barney, was killed.

The Boone County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney confirmed Barney is the woman identified as “DB”, a witness mentioned in the probable cause statement in the case against 57-year-old Anthony Shegog.

Shegog is charged in the stabbing death of 59-year-old Walter Lige.

That stabbing happened October 6 near Hickman High School.

Shegog reportedly became jealous when Barney started talking to Lige.

It’s unclear how her death will affect the case.
