Two arrested in connection to Aspen Heights apartment shooting in Columbia
Two men are in jail Sunday in connection to a Saturday morning shooting at the Aspen Heights apartment complex in Columbia that left one woman injured.
19-year-old Christopher Herron of Columbia and 19-year-old Leonard Jordan Jr. of Grandview were both arrested for second degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
Police said Herron was firing a gun into the air when a physical disturbance happened. Witnesses said Jordan started shooting into the crowd after Herron started shooting.
Both suspects are being held in the Boone County Jail.
A 22-year-old woman was injured early Saturday morning in a shooting at an apartment complex in Columbia.
Just after 2 a.m., officers were called to the Aspen Heights apartment complex after receiving multiple calls of shots fired.
Police said they found a car with a bullet hole in the driver’s side door and window when they arrived on the scene.
Officers found a 22-year-old woman with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said a physical disturbance happened before shots were fired.
There is no suspect description as of Saturday afternoon and the investigation is ongoing.
