Wednesday robbery suspect charged in three additional robberies

Two suspects charged in a Wednesday robbery at Missouri Credit union appeared in Boone County Court Friday.

Both men were laughing loudly and joking before they took the stand. They had to be quieted when the judge was talking.

23-year-old Joshua Harrington and 27-year-old Vicente Soto are charged with second degree robbery in the Wednesday robbery after they led police on a chase through north Columbia.

Harrington was charged Friday in three additional robberies, including two bank robberies.

Harrington was involved a May 16 home invasion and two bank robberies over the summer. Harrington is accused of robbing Landmark Bank and Missouri Credit Union, both in Columbia.

He’s charged with 1st degree robbery for the Landmark Bank robbery on August 6th. He is also charged with 2nd degree robbery for the August 21 robbery of Missouri Credit Union.

For the May home invasion, Harrington is charged with 1st degree robbery, 1st degree burglary, and 2 counts of armed criminal action.

Boone County Prosecutor Andi Hayes said Harrington’s long criminal history could affect his bond.

“We look at prior criminal convictions, pending cases, that someone has, and then a risk to the community when we seek a bond. And in this case, that’s why we’ve sought such a high bond and we’re asking for cash only,” said Hayes.

Hayes is requesting a $50,000 bond for each count plus $150,000 cash-only bond for the robbery this week.

Soto faces 15 years in prison, and Harrington could get life.
