Three arrested following Jefferson City pursuit

Three people were arrested following a police chase in Jefferson City.

Around 11:00 Thursday, police responded to Walmart East for suspicious people in the parking lot. The people were believed to be involved in stealing from the store.

When officers got to the parking lot, they found the car involved in the incident. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver sped off and a chase began.

The chase continued on McCarty and Algoa Road, and eventually stopped on North Shamrock.

All three suspects, two men and one woman, were taken into custody.

The three face resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, tampering with a motor vehicle, and possession of meth.

The car was reported stolen from Columbia and the plates were taken from Jefferson City.
