Three Boone County businesses cited for selling alcohol to a minor

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department sent an undercover minor to 10 businesses in Boone County for alcohol compliance checks Saturday night.

The minor attempted to purchase alcohol at all 10 locations.

Of the 10 businesses checked, three employees at three businesses were issued citations for selling liquor to a minor:

1. Quinten Chisolm, employee of Midway Travel at 6401 Highway 40 West, Columbia

2. Darice Badolato, employee of Bee Line Snack Shops, 530 W Broadway, Ashland

3. Benjamin Johnson, employee of Casey’s General Store, 1011 S. El Chaparral Avenue, Columbia

The other seven businesses did not sell to the minor and are considered in alcohol compliance:

1. Midway Little General, 6751 Highway 40 West, Columbia

2. Leatherwood Hills Little General, 1641 W. Route K, Columbia

3.Deer Park “Whoa and Go” Break Time, 6050 Highway AB, Columbia

4. Fast Lane Phillips 66 Convenience Store, 602 E. Broadway, Ashland

5. Casey’s General Store, 500 E. Broadway, Ashland

6. Break Time Convenience Store, 101 N. Henry Clay Boulevard, Ashland

7. Bee Line Snack Shop, 21340 S. Mt. Pleasant Road, Hartsburg

Funding for the investigation was made available through grants provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Traffic and Highway Safety Division and the Youth Community Coalition of Columbia.
