Man hit and killed on highway
A Gravois Mills man is dead after being hit while trying to cross Highway 54.
Investigators say it happened Thursday afternoon on westbound 54, just past the Highway 54 on ramp from the Osage Beach Parkway.
Police say Timothy Miesner, 44, tried to cross the highway in the path of a car driven by a 17-year-old from Roach.
Witnesses say Miesner’s car had run out of gas and he was returning with a gas can before the accident happened.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say no charges will be filed against the driver.
