Former military member accused of meth lab, pipe bomb

A former serviceman now faces charges in Mid-Missouri, after deputies allegedly found drugs and a dangerous pipe bomb in Chamois.

The Osage County sheriff’s office says Zachary Reed just recently came back from active military duty.

Deputies were investigating an August 22 shooting in Chamois City Park when they got a search warrant for 324 Buck Acres Road.

Officials claim they discovered a meth lab inside the home, along with two IEDs. One of them was filled with shrapnel and had a detonator carrying a highly deadly capacity. The scene was cleared after the bomb squad with the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the house.

Reed was arrested during the raid and charged on Monday. He remains in the Osage County jail, and more counts could be pending after the explosive devices are fully investigated.
