Officer in good condition after breaking thigh bone during arrest

A Mid-Missouri woman is still behind bars facing a quarter million dollars bond after she is accused of breaking a police officer’s leg over the weekend.

Officer Kevin Lutjen claims he found Janet Lang asleep behind the wheel Saturday in the parking lot of Citizens Farmers Bank in Stover, north of the Lake of the Ozarks. Officials received a report of somebody hitting and kicking the ATM.

After a struggle, the officer says Lang grabbed a second set of keys and took off while he was still halfway inside the car.

Lang was caught after taking a dead end road and driving into some woods.

OfficerLutjen suffered a broken thigh bone. He was flown to University Hospital in Columbia, where he underwent surgery on Sunday.

As of Monday afternoon,Lutjen was in good condition.
