Three injured in Jefferson City crash

Three people were injured Friday follwing a crash involving two cars on Highway 50 West at Missouri Blvd.in Jefferson City.

46-year-old Michael Strait of St. James was driving east on Highway 50 in a 2005 Ford Expedition approaching Missouri Boulevard when a 1993 Chevy Cavalier traveling west on 50 turned left into Strait’s path.

69-year-old Paul Coulter, who was driving the Cavalier, was driving with a passenger, 47-year-old Steven Hagner. Neither Coulter or Hagner were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

All three were injured in the crash and taken to local hospitals, and Hagner was taken to University Hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses at the scene said Coulter failed to stop at a red light.
