Two sentenced for February burglary in Jefferson City

A St. Louis couple was sentenced Wednesday in a February 2014 Jefferson City burglary.

Charles Lowery pleaded guilty on July 9 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while Kristie Meeks pleaded guilty on June 4 and was sentenced to 7 years.

The burglary happened on February 8 at an apartment on Lafayette Street.

According to witness statements, Meeks was invited into the apartment by one of the residents.

While in the apartment, Meeks texted Lowery, letting him know where she was, and told him to come into the apartment and rob them residents.

Witnesses said shortly after Meeks arrived, Lowery forced himself into the apartment and demanded money.

Lowery assaulted two of the residents, but both fled when they found out there was no money in the apartment.
