Local businesses impacted by unrest in Ferguson

Protesters, looting, and vandalism forced some Ferguson businesses to close and others to work around the chaos.

After being set on fire and having all the windows smashed in, employees there said they’ve had to move their restaurant outside to the parking lot.

Grills and cooking supplies have been moved outside the building, where glass still remains from the windows.

The owners of Red’s said luckily the fire was put out with the help of their sprinklers.

Employees said although they’re facing some major challenges, they’re not going to let the actions of others affect what they’re doing.

“That’s not stopping us. We’re going to keep rolling and it slows us down a little bit. We’re still here, customers are still coming, and we’re going to keep cooking,” said Sean Wilson, a Red’s BBQ employee.

It’s not the same story for all businesses, however.

There are multiple gas stations that have closed and other businesses have closed as a precaution.
