Scott Boulevard reopens to two-way traffic
Scott Boulevard between Bellview and Vawter School Road in Columbia reopened to two-way traffic late Friday afternoon.
Phase II of the project cost about $5.9 million. The project funding source was the 2005 voter-approved quarter cent capital improvement sales tax in Columbia.
During the past five months, the contractor and crews have demolished and rebuilt the 360-foot long bridge over Hinkson Creek and they have added about 32,000 square feet of sidewalk. They’ve also constructed a new round-about and segment of Brushwood Lake Road and raised Scott Boulevard by nine feet.
Columbia Public Works reminds motorists to still be prepared for short term delays, from time to time. Public Works also notes a segment of Vawter School will need to be closed for “a short period of time” in the future to finish work just east of the round-about.
