One man injured in one of three shootings overnight in Columbia

On Monday police still have no suspects in three shootings that happened within one hour in Columbia early Saturday morning.

The first shooting happened at 1:35 a.m. as Columbia police patrolled near the intersection of Rangeline Street and Big Bear Boulevard. There, officers found several shell casings in front of Sidelines Bar, but no one was injured on scene. A release said police received little cooperation from the business.

At 2:17 a.m., police arrived at the Auto Zone on Business Loop in reference to a shots fired call. Again, officers found several shell casings but no injuries, witnesses or any property damage.

Within minutes and one hour after the first shooting, officers responded to a shots fired call at 2:34 a.m. near Derby Ridge Drive and Avatar Court. This time, police found one car’s window had been shot out and a trail of blood that led to a residence in the 1400 block of Avatar Court. Police searched the residence but did not find anyone inside with any injuries.

Soon after, a local hospital notified police someone in a personal vehicle dropped off a 27-year-old man with non-life-threatening, gunshot injuries. Officers confirmed he was a victim from the shooting on Avatar Court.

In all three shootings, officers have no suspect description and no information that any of the shootings are related. Right now, no arrests have been made. The cases are still under investigation.
