Election 2014: Previewing Missouri’s biggest races
Tuesday marks another major voting day for Missourians.
Amendment 1, the Right to Farm, asks voters to decide if the state constitution should be amended to ensure that the right to Missouri citizens to engage in agricultural production and ranching practices shall not be infringed. You can read more about right to farm here.
Amendment 7 asks voters to decide on a 3/4 cent sales tax increase to make improvements on transportation infrastructure, including the repair of Missouri roads and bridges. You can read more about Amendment 7 here.
In Boone County, Proposition EPIC (Economic Development, Parks, Investment in Community) is a major issue on the ballot. Voters will be asked to decide on a 1/8 cent sales tax increase to help boost recreational activities at the Boone County Fairgrounds, improve run-down recreation areas, and preserving Boone County heritage. Cole County voters will decide on the issue of zoning, which would preserve existing property uses and allow future growth and development in the county. Read more about the zoning issue here.
Other races ABC 17 will be watching closely are the 47th State Rep. Republican, and the Boone County 13th Judicial Associate Circuit Judge Republican and Democrat.
