Multiple agencies find and arrest wanted man in Fulton
Fulton Police have confirmed to ABC 17 News that a wanted man has been arrested.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in the search for Vernon Parker, who was wanted for his arrest on multiple warrants.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff, Parker was one of 5 suspects believed to have been involved in a beating and robbery of an 82-year-old man near Swedeborg in Pulaski County last Friday.
Deputies responded to a rural home on Highway T to discover the elderly man screaming for help. He was found on the floor half-naked and bound with duct tape. He had been severely beaten and several valuable items were stolen.
Fulton Police arrested Parker without any problems.
Pulaski County detectives are questioning Parker in regard to the beating of an elderly man.
Fulton Police Chief Steve Meyers said, “Parker will be charged for violation of parole, failure to register as a sex offender and burglary.”
The Sheriff of Pulaski County said they will have a news conference tomorrow and release new information about Parker and his charges.
