Jefferson City man faces federal meth possession charge

A Jefferson City man was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday afternoon for having meth with the intent to sell it.

A federal criminal complaint was filed against 38-year-old Christopher “Rodney” Ronimous on July 8.

The indictment said Ronimous allegedly was in possession of 50 grams of meth with the intent to distribute on July 7.

According to an affidavit, Jefferson City Police stopped a car for improper registration that day. Ronimous was a passenger in the car while it was searched. An Altoids can containing 5 grams of meth and 3 hits of LSD fell from Ronimous’ shorts when he was outside the car.

When Ronimous was taken to the police station, officers searched him and revealed 2 more bags containing about 50 more grams of meth in his pants.
