Columbia man arrested for threatening ATV riders with shotgun

Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man in the 800 block of Nance Drive after he threatened ATV riders in the area with a shotgun.

Deputies were called out to the area just before 8 p.m. Sunday and found 63-year-old David Baker of Columbia had confronted people riding ATV’s in the area regarding their high speeds.

During the confrontation, deputies said Baker brought out a shotgun, pointed it at the ATV riders and made verbal threats toward them.

Baker was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon and third degree assault. He is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
