Red Cross running low on blood, asking for donations

The American Red Cross says it needs blood donations as soon as possible to prevent a future crisis.

The agency just reported their collections are down eight percent over the last 11 weeks. That equals about eighty-thousand donations.

Summer is often the hardest time because there are fewer volunteers available.

At the moment, officials need the universal type O negative, B negative and A negative. But there are still chances to help. Listed below are the opportunities to give blood in the next week in Mid-Missouri.
