Columbia Police identify July 3 shooting suspect

Columbia Police have identified a suspect in one of the many shootings that have occurred in the past two weeks.

Officers are looking for 28-year-old William Alexander Hill for 1st degree assault and armed criminal action. His bond amount is set at $100,000.

Police said Hill was involved in a shooting at the intersection of Oak and Garth on the night of Thursday, July 3.

Wednesday, police said it’s unknown if Hill was involved in any other of the shooting or shots fired incidents.

Hill is described as a 5’7″ black man, about 150 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.

Police describe him to be armed.

Hill was previously arrested and held in prison from September 2009 until September 2010, and again in August 2011 until October 2012.

Columbia Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any tip that leads them to an arrest in one of the shooting incidents.
