Transportation project list approved by State Highways Commission
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved a list of hundreds of transportation projects Missourians said are necessary.
The list includes $4.8 billion for more than 800 transportation projects.
Essentially, these will fix roads and bridges that are in bad condition not just all over the state but locally, even doing projects in areas not maintained by MoDOT.
MoDOT Commission Board Chair Steve Miller said, “We have been through a process where we have attempted to allow local priorities to emerge and not do to this selection from the top down where we’re determining what ought to be built, but allowing it to come from the local level and work its way up.”
Voters will have a chance to approve a 3/4 cent sales tax in August that will pay for these projects.
