Disposing of yard waste from Monday’s storms

Many Mid-Missourians are still cleaning up after Monday night’s damaging winds.

Columbia Public Works announced Monday there will be no special pick up for trees and limbs this week, and removal requirements will not be relaxed as crews are continuing to clean streets for Columbia Water & Light.

Public Works is asking residents to keep sidewalks clear of debris in front of homes and businesses.

To be picked up, limbs must be cut to no larger than 2 feet in diameter and bundled with string in bundles no more than 50 lbs. These bundles can be placed along the curb on regular collection day.

Customers can also take tree limbs to Capen Park, Parkside, or the city landfill.

Commercial tree services cannot dump tree limbs or debris at Capen or Parkside mulch sites.
