Boone County Sheriff’s deputies took three people into custody following a vehicle chase early Wednesday.

The chase began in Columbia and went north on Highway 63 before ending in Randolph County near Moberly. Police officers from Moberly helped in the chase by deploying spike strips on the road.

Three people were detained, and deputies tell ABC 17 the car they were in was stolen.

The driver was identified as Nichole Helm, 25, of Kirksville. The passengers were identified as Sabrina Salsberry, 26, of Novinger and William Holcomb, 29, of Kirksville.

Deputies tell us at times the chase exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour. During the chase an item was seen thrown from the vehicle and deputies later recovered a loaded gun near that area.
